Overview Location: Wright Patterson Air Force Base Clearance: Active TS (SCI eligibility) clearance and eligibility to obtain a CI poly is required upon application for initial consideration This position is not open for any clearance upgrades or sponsorship. Are you ready to test your abilities as Senior Data Center Engineer in a sophisticated enterprise exploitation environment? Join a dedicated team supporting the UDS contract at NGA. Responsibilities What you get to do every day: Develops computer systems specifications that fit with the government's system architecture standards. Establishes and documents system parameters and formats, ensures hardware and software systems compatibility and coordinates and/or modifies system parameters in terms of existing and projected computer capacity and capabilities.
Revises existing systems and procedures to correct deficiencies and maintain more effective data handling, conversion, input/output requirements, and storage
Responsible for installation and maintenance of storage, networking, and server hardware.
Ensures availability of development systems to end users through continuous system monitoring and issue remediation.
Applies required security updates and implementations mandated by DoD cyber security regulations.
Oversee the efforts of less senior staff and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job. Qualifications Clearance: Active TS (SCI eligibility) clearance and eligibility to obtain a CI poly is required upon application for initial consideration This position is not open for any clearance upgrades or sponsorship. Certification Required: Must have Security+ certification or DoD 8570 Level II equivalent within 90 days of hire Education/Experience: Requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience 8+ years of related experience Required Skills: Requires RHEL - Linux administration experience - 3 year or more experience RHEL, Windows, and/or Storage administration Experience working with trouble reporting and tracking systems such as Security+ Ability to respond to after hour calls "provide on-call support" Ability to travel 0-20% to local area sites as well as other locations with similar architecture/footprint. Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. What is ideal?
