We are currently seeking a self-motivated, results oriented NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST. This role serves as a resource for gathering product knowledge and information for potential new products, new categories as well as adding items with unique attributes to our wide array of existing categories of products. This is an ideal position for someone with retail experience who has a personal passion for electronics and technology.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform all sourcing, item setup/lifecycle management, in-store item testing, in-store merchandising and other functions in New Product Development
The position requires the associate to interface well throughout all departments to support company initiatives
Manage new product requests through iSupport system
Serves as catalyst for potential new products and categories, is used as a resource for product knowledge and availability
Research and develop tests for new and existing categories
Follow new technology and evaluate specific categories to look for new opportunities
Manage the test process between stores and home office
Work with the buyers and the stores regarding test products and processes
Maintain product inventory levels for the duration of tests and communicate results
Daily retrieve product deliveries from mailroom
Maintain the internal product categorization hierarchy
Other test-related duties assigned by management
Research on new consumer electronics, technology and computer products via various ecommerce websites
Manage relationships and communication with domestic and overseas vendors
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent business-related experience preferably in merchandising, buying, or new product development
Strong interest and ability in learning new technology trends in all categories
Background or experience in ecommerce platforms
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Analytical mindset with ability to see trends in data
Highly organized with focus on execution, problem solving, and improving sales
Strong attention to detail in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
Demonstrated determination and ability to take ownership of challenging situations
Exceptional time management skills
Team player with an ability to work collaboratively
Microsoft Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Database related programs
1+ years' product development experience a plus
