Job description

Position description: The Facilities Manager is responsible for ensuring that Christ Community Chapel's (CCC) physical environment is maintained to the highest standards. The role encompasses the management of the church building(s), equipment, and grounds to provide a safe, welcoming, and functional space for staff, congregants, and visitors. This role does not include direct supervision of any staff but requires the ability to coordinate and oversee projects, maintenance schedules, and event setups. This is a full-time position and reports to the Facilities Director.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular inspections of the church building to identify necessary repairs, maintenance, and improvements.
  • Perform basic maintenance and repairs (e.g., plumbing, electrical, HVAC troubleshooting) or coordinate with professional contractors for more complex tasks.
  • Ensure cleanliness and readiness of all rooms, restrooms, common areas, and sanctuary spaces.
  • Manage contracts and service agreements related to facility maintenance and services.
  • Ensure all facilities adhere to local, state, and federal safety and building codes.
  • Maintain an inventory of all church equipment and schedule regular maintenance as needed.
  • Collaborate with ministry leaders to set up rooms and facilities for events, meetings, and services.
  • Provide logistical support and be on-call for any facility-related needs during events.
  • Monitor the condition of the church's grounds, including parking lots, lawns, and exterior lighting.
  • Ensure regular upkeep of landscaping and removal of debris or hazards.
  • Assist in the development of the annual facilities budget.
  • Track expenses and provide regular reports to the Facilities Director on facility-related spending.


Qualifications:

  • Be in a dynamic and growing relationship with Jesus.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in facilities maintenance, property management, or a related field, preferably in a large church setting.
  • Able to work weekend or evening events as needed.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems and maintenance (HVAC, plumbing, electrical).
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Basic computer skills for tracking maintenance schedules, emails, and vendor management.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods standing and walking throughout church facilities.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to bend, lift, stretch, climb, and crawl to maintain equipment and buildings.
  • Must be able to perform work in a variety of weather conditions.
