Basic Job Functions:

The Nucor Marion Shear Operator's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, taking care of customers by executing the division's safety, quality, cost, productivity, and profitability objectives. The responsibilities of the Shear Operator also include: Maintaining equipment in your area, communicating efficiently with maintenance about issues with equipment and following up with them, pushing the team to perform at a high level, completing PMs and routine maintenance repairs as needed, understanding customer needs, establishing good communication with main pulpit and stacker, making quick decisions, having courage to hold himself/herself accountable and share the learnings from it. The qualified candidate must be willing to work rotating shifts, holidays, and weekends as required.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Demonstrated commitment to safety.
• Manufacturing experience
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high stress environment while paying attention to details
• Ability to communicate effectively with other teammates and make quick decisions

Preferred Qualifications:

• Cold Shear experience
• Rolling Mill experience
