Hi-Tek Manufacturing is searching for experienced 2nd shift CNC Operators to run CNC Creep Feed Grind machines who wish to continue his or her career in advanced manufacturing technology by executing a higher level of workmanship. 2nd shift offers a generous shift differential 3:30pm-12:00am Mon-Fri OT may be required as needed

Essential Duties and Tasks

Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the operator is responsible for following all policies and procedures associated with the various parts and equipment that he or she will be trained and certified to run. In addition, operators load/unload parts to fulfil production demands, inspect parts using various precision measuring tools, accept or reject parts, and communicate any changes, both verbally and in writing.

  • Operate appropriate CNC flat surface and creep feed grinding equipment and other machinery as necessary to produce the required number of correct parts in a timely manner according to process documentation. This can include operating multiple pieces of equipment simultaneously
  • Analyze and interpret Op sheets, blueprints, mechanical drawings, and travelers to produce products that meet or exceed customer specifications
  • Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to customer specifications, using precision measuring tools and equipment as necessary (micrometers, calipers, gauges (pin, thread, indicator, height), optical comparators and coordinate measuring machines (CMM)
  • Maintain working knowledge of CNC principles, including G and M codes
  • Maintain working knowledge of rotary/linear axes
  • Selects, aligns, and secures fixtures, grinding wheels, and workpieces on machines as necessary to machine parts as required
  • Analyze, interpret CMM reports, and properly offset machine dimensions to meet customer specifications
  • Perform Deburr operations to within specified tolerances
  • Documents actions by updating control charts, travelers, and reporting labor in the ERP system
  • Perform under AS9100 quality standards and NADCAP accreditation
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment by performing daily housekeeping duties

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • CNC Machining certificate from a Trade School preferred or acceptable work experience in lieu of schooling
  • Must meet the ITAR definition of 120.15 U.S. person
  • Duty related experience: including operation of flat surface grinders preferred
  • Experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment, aerospace industry preferred
  • Experience with G & M codes preferred

Physical Demand Levels

  • Lift, push and/or pull up to thirty-five pounds regularly
  • Operate overhead crane or other lifting equipment when necessary
  • Stand at least 95% of scheduled shift
  • Walking or climbing stairs as needed to perform job duties as assigned
  • Routinely perform reaching, twisting, bending, and grasping to move and set tools, equipment, and materials
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color perception, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 20/20 vision (natural or corrected) required with ability to pass annual vision test as required
