Job description

Employees are enrolled in the Ohio Public Employees Retirement Plan and the Board contributes an amount equal to 14% of the employee's wages to their retirement plan. Employees have the option to enroll in medical, dental, and vison insurance plans which have very low premiums. Once deductibles are met, our medical plan pays 100% for most prescriptions and medical treatments. Employees who take advantage of the insurance plans will have a health savings account setup and can contribute through payroll deductions. To ensure that employees can afford medical costs the Board contributes $2,000 for single or $4,000 for family to the employee's health savings account. Rest and time with friends and families is important. Each year employees have ten holidays, one personal day, board administration days (the days between Christmas and New Year's Day), and generous sick and vacation leaves. Employees can apply for tuition assistance. Employees can take advantage of the Employee Assistance Program which will provide free counseling for challenges that the employee faces at work or at home. RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DUTIES: Provides nursing care to the Individuals within the scope of registered nursing. Collects and assesses health data and reports to the physician, or other healthcare provider when necessary. Prepares, administers and documents medications and treatments; Provides first aid and other emergency procedures as ordered by healthcare provider. Writes clear and concise nursing notes. Follows Universal Precautions. Lifts and repositions Individuals. Serves as on-call nurse on a rotation basis. Receives and processes medical orders. Reviews, makes appropriate contacts, obtains consent, provides nursing care, and documents on daily issues concerning the Individuals, such as UI/ MUIs, human rights, medication consents, medical appointments, and procedures. Assists with scheduling, transporting, and all follow-up required for Individual medical appointments. Collects, documents, and analyzes current health data and researches past medical history. Plans, implements, directs and evaluates nursing care of the individual. Contributes to, and follows the Individual Service Plans. Maintains communication with other members of the IP team. Serves as liaison with staff, physicians, families, and/or guardians regarding health conditions of Individuals. Serves as nursing consultant to staff by providing general and Individual-specific health care instructions to staff about the Individuals. Assists in orienting staff. Participates in delegation of medication administration and health related activities to non-licensed staff. Attends meetings as necessary. Uses and cares for medical supplies and appliances according to regulatory standards and manufacturer directions and arranges for repairs as needed. Orders nursing and office supplies regularly to maintain sufficient stock. Resolves issues as appropriate. Performs other related duties as required.
