The Accounts Payable person will prepare and analyze various accounts payable statements and reports, verify accuracy of records, conduct special studies, and make recommendations on accounts payable methods and procedures. Responsibilities span between single and multi-company functions. What Were Looking For The ideal candidate will have at least two years related, applicable experience and an Associates degree in accounting, finance or specifically related discipline. Duties and Responsibilities 1. Review, correct, update and post accounts payable in preparation of weekly check processing. 2. Match invoices received against purchase orders/requisitions. 3. Process debit memos and ensure entry into the accounts payable system. 4. Process manual vouchers and ensure entry into the accounts payable system. 5. Perform special projects as required by management. 6. Assist other personnel in resolution of problems requiring special attention. 7. Process a large volume of data entry to meet deadlines. 8. Correct purchase orders necessary for posting purposes. 9. Research and process all vendor refunds and credits due to the company. 10. Ensure paperwork is received to process invoices on a timely basis. 11. Run reports as necessary for month end processing. 12. Update Accounting policies and procedures as needed. 13. Maintain petty cash and reconcile to the general ledger. 14. Process and mail 1099s annually. 15. Interact and communicate with all levels of employees within the Company, as well as suppliers, customers and peers effectively. 16. Comply with policies, procedures, standards and rules of the Company. 17. Maintain work area in a clean, orderly and safe manner. 18. Punctual, regular and consistent attendance. 19. Perform all other job-related duties as assigned. Required Experience and Education Two years related, applicable experience preferred. Ability to utilize spreadsheet and analytical techniques. Associates degree or equivalent experience in accounting, finance or specifically related discipline. Able to read, write, and follow verbal instructions in Standard English. Physical and Technical Environment Minimal lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally. Must be able to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, bend and stoop in a normal office environment. Ability to routinely travel throughout multi-floor office and shop area, walking, climbing stairs, utilizing elevator. Normal office environment, changing deadlines, project assignments, very strict and continuous time constraints. Successful completion of a credit report.
