Description:


We are seeking an A&P Install Technician that is a motivated self-starter. This position will be working daily on customer and company owned aircraft including a Piper Cheyenne, Beechcraft Barons (55 & 58), and a Mooney M20F.


Primary responsibilities include inspection of aircraft, performing maintenance and overhauls, making repairs, and conducting tests to keep equipment operating efficiently and safely. An airframe and power plant (A&P) mechanic works on the airframe, including the fuselage, wings, brakes, and tail assembly, as well as oil and fuel tanks. Responsibilities for the power plant include the engine and propellers (if any), brakes, and landing gear. Additional responsibilities and duties include:


Installing air conditioning and other STCs into general aviation piston aircraft.

Examining engine and other components to find any cracks, breaks, or other defects requiring repair or replacement.

Testing engine and operating systems for proper functioning using array of appropriate tools.

Performing scheduled maintenance and repairing or replacing any equipment not functioning properly as well as further in-flight tests, making adjustments and corrections as required.

Using maintenance manuals and specifications to determine proper operating condition.

Modifying systems or components as appropriate.

Inspecting and approving for return to service in compliance with FAA rules and regulations.

Requirements:


In order to perform the job of a A&P Install Technician successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Completion of an aircraft mechanic training course with a minimum of 1,900 actual class hours given by a school certified by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for such training.

Certification by the FAA as an A&P Mechanic required.

FAA Inspection Authorization certification preferred.

Completion of at least 16 hours of training every 24 months to keep certification valid.

Careful workmanship and attention to detail in performing duties.

Ability to work under stressful conditions because of degree of responsibility required.

Ability to read, understand, and follow technical and maintenance manual instructions to solve complex mechanical problems.

Written and oral communication skills sufficient to prepare reports and to discuss equipment malfunction.

Sheet metal experience a plus.

Travel is required in this position


EDUCATION/ CERTIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or GED required.

FAA Airframe and Power Plant Certification required.

FAA Inspection Authorization Certification preferred.


TRAVEL REQUIRED


LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to lift 70 pounds from floor to waist level on a frequent basis. Agility to climb, stand, bend, lie, or kneel in awkward positions and to perform work from scaffolds or ladders. Manual dexterity required to operate tools to make adjustments and repairs. Visual acuity sufficient to inspect equipment for defects. Hearing sufficient to test for sounds of correct or incorrect functioning of aircraft.
