Responsibilities for Accounting Assistant

  • Calculate liabilities and prepare monthly reconciliation reports of sales tax liabilities
  • Prepare and file various sales tax returns
  • Verify and prepare Sales Tax Credits as required
  • Verify supplier invoices to orders and receipts
  • Take supplier deductions when appropriate
  • Process orders for billing
  • Calculate and apply freight to orders and releases
  • Enter orders/releases and process for billing as needed
  • Print/run and distribute invoices/credits and various reports
  • Sort/distribute incoming departmental mail and take outgoing departmental mail to mailroom
  • Code and enter supplier credits for payables
  • Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications Accounting Assistant

  • Desired experience includes 1-2 years' experience in the Accounting field
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality
    • Knowledge of or experience with PC, Microsoft Office software, various printers, facsimile, copier, calculator, multi-line phone
    • Minimum of an Associates Degree in Accounting

    The Accounting Assistant role is fully onsite in Wooster, OH with a salary range of $37,440 - $45,760 depending on experience.
