Job description

Position Overview: The St. Charles Cardiology Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will deliver comprehensive Cardiology services in both inpatient and outpatient settings. This role includes daily rounding, patient admissions and discharges, post-operative care, clinic consultations, and follow-up visits, all while collaborating with other medical specialties to ensure optimal patient management.

Work Schedule:
Hours: Minimum of 40 hours per week, with at least 36 hours of direct patient contact.
Inpatient Rotation: Monday to Sunday, participating in a 1:6 rotation with no clinic responsibilities the week following inpatient service.
Clinic Days: Four clinical days per week, including a minimum of 12 appointments per day in the Bend outpatient clinic.

Essential Duties:

Clinical Responsibilities:
Conduct patient exams and assess cardiac disease processes.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests and procedures.
Prescribe medications and provide patient education on treatment plans.
Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records in the EMR.
Collaborate with cardiologists for procedural care coordination.

Administrative Responsibilities:
Document patient care activities in compliance with regulatory standards.
Attend SCMG physician meetings and assist in policy development.
Stay current on medical knowledge through ongoing CME activities.

Behavioral Expectations:
Create a healing environment and deliver high-quality patient care.
Provide excellent customer service and maintain professionalism.
Ensure compliance with all health system regulations and guidelines.

Qualifications:
Education: Completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
Licensure: Unrestricted licensure in Oregon (PA requires NCCPA; NP requires AANC, NCC, or AANP certification).
Experience: Previous experience in hospital and outpatient settings; experience in Cardiology care preferred.
