Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Ready-Mix Driver to join our team in Canby, OR. As a Ready-Mix Driver you will safely and efficiently operate a large concrete truck in either an urban or rural settings.

What You'll Get to Do:

  • Deliver concrete to customers in a timely and customer-friendly focused manner.
  • Work with customers on site to achieve maximum customer service.
  • Visually inspect concrete mix for correct slump, and constituents.
  • Work closely with the dispatch team to ensure the quickest and safest route to jobs.
  • Maintain superior public relations in the performance of duties.
  • Observe all safety precautions and rules/laws specified by site, city, state, federal and Company regulations and policies.
  • Maintain vehicle in a clean, organized, and safe fashion.

Essential Experience and Skills:

  • Must have current Commercial Class B driver's license with airbrakes. VETERANS: Heidelberg Materials will help you acquire your CDL
  • Safe driving record. No serious moving violations within past 36 months; no more than two moving violations within the past 24 months (Driver's abstract required).
  • Ability to read a map and understand verbal and GPS driving route instructions.
  • Proven communication and problem-solving skills while working with customers.
  • Good attendance and punctuality a must.
  • Possess a solid knowledge of local and state transportation regulations.
  • Display or have some mechanical aptitude for minor preventative maintenance and pre-shift inspections.
  • Must have the initiative to be able to work without direct supervisor and be a team player.
  • Ability to work in extremes of hot and cold weather.
  • Must have the physical ability to: climb, stoop, bend, squat, frequently lift extension chutes (up to 60 lbs.), stretch, drive/sit, and shift gears.
  • Must be able to work flexible schedule with flexible hours, hours vary; overtime work, weekends, and nights may be required.

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Experience in ready-mix or heavy construction industries and 2 plus year of commercial driving experience.
  • Current Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Certificate a plus.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Role operations primarily in environments where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise level.
