Bay Area Hospital in Coos Bay, OR is seeking a Board Certified Interventional Cardiologist to join the team.Job Description: -The interventional cardiologist will share responsibilities seeing inpatient hospital patients, seeing clinic patients, rotating into the cardiac Cath Lab schedule, covering an imaging rotation, and sharing both general and interventional call. Privileges include the ability to assess, stabilize, and determine the disposition of patients with emergent conditions consistent with policies regarding emergency and consultative call services. The core privileges in the specialty include the procedures on the following procedures list and such other procedures that are extensions of the same techniques and skills within the specialty practice. -Interventional cardiology core privileges: - Intracoronary foreign body retrieval- Intracoronary infusion of pharmacologic agents including thrombolytic medications- Intracoronary mechanical -Thrombectomy- Intracoronary stents, balloon angioplasty, and other commonly used interventional devices- Intracoronary ultrasound of coronaries or IVUS- Use of intracoronary Doppler, flow and pressure wire- Management of complications of percutaneous interventional coronary procedures- Rotational atherectomy- Use of vasoactive agents for epicardial and microvascular spasm- Primarily radial approach and or femoral and brachial cannulation for angiography or percutaneous coronary interventions- Interpretation of coronary angiograms, ventriculography, and hemodynamics- Intra-aortic balloon pump catheter insertion and post patient care-Special requested procedures for interventional cardiology:- Peripheral vascular angiography, angioplasty, and stenting- Special request for privileges may be made for carotid stenting, and endovascular grafts of the aorta- Special request for privileges may be made for permanent pacemaker implantation and other implant devices such as AICD- Other requested privileging can be made based on prior experience and new training reappointment criteria for Interventional Cardiology- Maintains regular, consistent and punctual attendance at the assigned job location- Exercises good judgment, demonstrates effective critical thinking skills- Flexible, able to prioritize and address multiple responsibilities concurrently- Works effectively under stress and frequently changing job requirements/situations-Experience required:- Demonstrated competence and an adequate volume of experience (150 percutaneous coronary interventional procedures) with acceptable outcomes, reflective of the scope of privileges requested, for the past 24 months, based on results of professional practice evaluation and outcome studies. Evidence of current physical and mental ability to perform privileges requested is required of all applicants for renewal of privileges. - In addition, excepted continuing education related to interventional cardiology is required.- Successful completion of an AC GME or AOA accredited training program and interventional cardiology or equivalent practice experience if training occurred prior to 2003 Requirements: Board Certified in Internal Medicine. Board Certified in Interventional Cardiology -OR- completed a Certificate of Added Qualification in Interventional Cardiology. Minimum of 2 years' work experience at Interventional Cardiologist. Has ties to Oregon -i.e.family in the area or has lived in OR at some point.On Call: On call shared for both general and interventional call.
