Your Role With Us:

You will play an essential role in patient care and interaction as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) on the Salem Health - West Valley Hospital Rehabilitation team. Your confident communication style will enable you to operate within an excellent team of patient care professionals where your individual abilities are both encourage and rewarded. Under supervision of the occupational therapist, the COTA plans and implements occupational therapy services to patients in collaboration with physician and supervisory staff. The COTA demonstrates knowledge and application of theory and practice of occupational therapy with patients. Utilizes equipment for intervention specific to the area(s) of assignment. Coordinates patient care as a member of a rehabilitation team as required in area(s) of assignment. You will be constantly challenged to think creatively to drive patient care results, stay updated on current trends and practices, and share learnings with your team and other health care colleagues. Background/Expertise:

Graduate of an occupational therapist assistant training program approved by the Committee on Accreditation in Education of the American Occupational Therapy Association required.
Oregon Certified Occupational Therapy - License must be verified prior to start.

Basic Life Support (BLS) - Within 90 days of hire required.
Must be a team player and have proven success applying team approach to obtain resolution to an issue.

Excellent interpersonal communication skills, problem solving, decision making and organizational skills for working with the rehabilitation team and patients.
Ability to prioritize and adapt to change while working in a high volume multidisciplinary setting.

Demonstrates competency by implementing age, culturally sensitive, and developmentally appropriate treatment plans and by appropriate documentation
