Job description
Job Title: Registered Pharmacist
Facility: Rite Aid Pharmacy
Location: Eugene, OR
Shift Timing: 9 AM to 9 PM (8 Hours between these hours)
Hours per week: 32
Duration: 13 Weeks of contract
Responsibilities:
Dispensing Medications
Accurately dispense prescription medications to patients as prescribed by healthcare providers.
Ensure the correct dosage, form, and instructions are provided for each prescription.
Review prescriptions for appropriateness, potential drug interactions, and allergies.
Patient Counseling
Counsel patients on the proper use, potential side effects, and storage of medications.
Offer advice on over the counter (OTC) medications and health products.
Educate patients about lifestyle changes or preventive health measures related to their conditions.
Inventory Management
Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring the pharmacy is well-stocked with both prescription and over-the-counter medications.
Place orders for medications and supplies, ensuring the pharmacy operates smoothly.
Check and ensure that expired medications are removed and replaced promptly.
Legal and Regulatory Compliance
Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and other relevant regulations.
Ensure all medications are dispensed according to applicable laws and regulations, including controlled substances.
Keep up-to-date with regulatory changes and implement them in daily pharmacy operations.
Supervision of Pharmacy Assistants/Technicians
Supervise and provide guidance to pharmacy assistants or technicians in dispensing, inventory control, and customer service.
Train new staff members on pharmacy procedures, customer service, and safety standards.
Managing Medication Therapy
Assist with medication therapy management (MTM) services, reviewing patient medication regimens for effectiveness.
Advise on the safe and proper use of medications, particularly for patients with chronic conditions.
Customer Service
Provide excellent customer service, addressing any concerns or queries patients may have regarding their medications or health.
Handle customer complaints or issues in a professional manner, aiming to resolve them promptly.
Health Promotion and Disease Prevention
Promote health services such as vaccination clinics, blood pressure monitoring, or health screenings.
Advise on preventive health strategies, including smoking cessation and weight management programs.
Financial Management
Process prescription claims through insurance providers or patient co-payments.
Ensure accurate billing and payment processing for prescriptions and health products.
Offer pricing information for medications and provide alternatives when necessary.
Collaboration with Healthcare Providers
Work closely with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible care for patients.
Participate in interdisciplinary teams to discuss patient care and medication-related issues.
Requirements
