Job description
Quikmedic is a growing, innovative, mobile integrated healthcare delivery company seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the role of medical director to provide clinical oversight in Oregon. QuikMedic provides an on-demand mobile urgent care solution to be deployed when a patient needs it most. We provide concierge level of care to handle urgent concerns, monitor chronic health conditions, follow-up visits as well as social determinants of health and HEDIS gap closure all in the patient's home.
Qualifications: The Medical Director shall meet the following minimum qualifications:
- Possession of the Oregon specific regulatory requirements to serve as a medical director for a prehospital healthcare delivery system;
- Possession of a valid medical license in the State and unrestricted U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration DEA license;
- Is not and has never been debarred, suspended, declared ineligible or excluded from Medicare, Medicaid or any other governmental health care program or other federal program;
- Evidence of high ethical standards and no conflicts of interest;
- Experience or training in: (1) emergency department management of acutely ill or injured patients, and/or (2) medical direction of out-of-hospital emergency units, and/or (3) paramedics providing out-of-hospital care;
- Meet one of the following requirements:
- Be board-certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine or the American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine; or
- Be board-eligible by completion of an emergency medicine residency program recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties or the American Osteopathic Association; or
- Be board-certified by a medical specialty board recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties or the American Osteopathic Association followed by successful completion of an emergency medical services fellowship; or
- Be subspecialty board-certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine in emergency medical services
Medical Director Duties : The Medical Director shall be responsible for performing the following duties for QuikMedic:
- Assist in the review, development and direct the implementation of patient care and other standards, including medical and educational guidelines, policies, protocols, standing orders and the like that may be applicable to the provision of care and services provided by QuikMedic personnel whether emergent or non-emergent, planned or unplanned;
- Maintain current knowledge and skills appropriate for the clinical practice of out-of-hospital medicine and for the role of QuikMedic medical director;
- Participate in training and continuing medical education for QuikMedic and other personnel in the classroom or field;
- Active participation with QuikMedic, including but not limited to:
- Performance improvement programs;
- Education programs; and
- Collaborating with protocol updates;
- Participation in peer review and quality improvement programs that meet any State requirements to improve the availability and quality of the QuikMedic services;
- Monitoring phases of QuikMedic concerning medical matters and adherence to patient care policies and protocol and other standards, including but not limited to:

- Review of Quikmedic requests for service, interactions with potential or actual patients, provisions of care, documentation and other QuikMedic activities;
- Audit of QuikMedic activities through the use of documentation, communications or other data, records, or reports.
- The Medical Director shall work with the QuikMedic liaison to:

- Assist in monitoring the system for problem identification, resolution and incident record keeping;
- Assist in monitoring the system of review and verification of skills and performance of QuikMedic personnel;
- Assist in monitoring the system for auditing or reviewing adherence to specified medical responsibility and medical protocols as necessary; and
- Assist with audit and review adherence to specified medical responsibility, medical matters and adherence to patient care and other standards as necessary.
- Involvement in establishing or modifying educational objectives, and review and approval of:

- Requirements for initial training and education, and the continuing education of QuikMedic personnel;
- Educational curricula that reflects topics identified in local quality improvement analysis; and
- Evaluation of medical competency of QuikMedic providers to ensure maintenance of an adequate knowledge base and skill proficiency.
- Periodically, assist with the review and revision of patient care and other standards, including medical, operational, administrative, and educational guidelines, policies, protocols, standing orders and the like as prescribed by federal, State and local laws and regulations or by other needs.
- Maintain liaison with the local medical community including, but not limited to, hospitals, emergency departments, physicians, out-of-hospital providers, and nurses.
- Interact cooperatively with regional, State, and local authorities to ensure that applicable patient care standards, needs, and requirements are met and
resource utilization is optimized.
- Performing such administrative tasks as are required by law or regulation or as reasonably requested by QuikMedic.
