Overview of the HR Specialist role:

• Develops clear, accurate, and engaging job descriptions that attract top talent.
• Maintains and updates job descriptions for all positions, ensuring they reflect actual duties and ensures consistency in language and format across all job descriptions.
• Evaluates the responsibilities and skills for each role to establish job classifications and salary scales.
• Conducts routine salary assessments for new hires, promotions, and transfers, with supervisor guidance.
• Collaborates with Recruitment and hiring managers on job offers, ensuring salary placements reflect relevant experience.
• Analyzes market data and job duties to determine classification, salary range, and assess compensation trends.

Preferred Qualification for the HR Specialist role:

• Detail oriented and a self-starter
• Ability to professionally handle and maintain confidentiality of information and records
• Understanding of the Pay Equity Act
• Picks up on new ideas quickly and works well independently
• Excellent communication skills verbal, written and interpersonal
• Enjoys supporting others and working as a team member
• Proficiency with Excel, Word and Outlook
