The Business Analyst - Access Center duties will primarily revolve around maintaining an efficient provider scheduling process for the network. This role will be responsible for the maintenance of key Epic Cadence documents including provider scheduling decision trees, IT technical requirements, provider template designs, and provider clinical time targets. The Business Analyst will partner with the Manager, Capacity Planning to support assigned service lines with provider capacity planning. This role will support routine Patient Access Analytics review through monthly and quarterly engagement meetings with assigned specialties to continually improve patient scheduling and performance of patient access targets, such as schedule utilization and patient throughput.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for maintaining service line decision tree documents through monthly optimization meetings with IT, practice operations, and Manager, Capacity Planning.
Responsible for maintaining service line Epic Cadence business requirements documents through monthly optimization meetings with IT, practice operations, and Manager, Capacity Planning.
Responsible for maintaining provider template design documents that validate adherence to established patient access guidelines and principles.
Completion of routine audits to ensures provider scheduling in Epic is built accordingly to approved decision trees, Cadence requirements, and template designs.
Responsible for the onboarding of providers to the documents listed above prior to their start date. Collaborating with the IT team to ensure new providers are built for the Scheduler, MyChart, and Mobile versions of the decision tree.
Models impact of SLPG Access/ IT security principles and partners with SLPG operations to ensure awareness and adoption, as appropriate.
Identifies and addresses decision tree barriers and partners with Epic Analysts (Decision Tree), the Epic Cadence Team, and others to optimize the use of Epic functionality to enable optimal scheduling effectiveness.
Assists with preparations for monthly and quarterly patient access reviews to manage performance and proactively identify trends or inconsistencies for assigned specialty teams.
Provide business support to the implementation of provider scheduling solutions (i.e., UKG EZCall) and ongoing support to the specialty.
Other related duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
Sitting for up to 7 hours per day, 4 hours at a time; standing for up to 7 hours per day, 4 hours at a time; walking for up to 2 hours a day, 1 hour at a time. Seeing as it relates to general, near, color, and peripheral vision. Hearing as it relates to normal and telephone conversations.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree, required.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Required: A minimum of three years of related healthcare industry experience, with a vendor or consulting organization, or within a large provider-based delivery system.
Preferred: Schedule Strategy End User Badge. 2+ year of experience with data analysis and reporting. 2+ years of experience with scheduling.
