About the Medical Assistant Trainee Program:
The Medical Assistant Trainee Program is a comprehensive program that offers hands-on training and mentorship to individuals interested in pursuing a rewarding career in healthcare as a Medical Assistant.
The Medical Assistant Trainee's primary responsibility is to learn how to assist in the delivery of health care management for the practice throughout a six-weeks full time training period. The training program is developed to allow the trainee to actively participate and support the primary clinical teams upon completion of program and the passing of validation. The Medical Assistant Trainee is a professional member of the interdisciplinary team and consistently demonstrates and promotes the values of the organization.

What to expect:
The Medical Assistant Trainee will participate in a six weeks full time training program consisting of:
- Anatomy and physiology
- Vocabulary of medical terminology and abbreviations
- Patient education and safety
- Learn hands on skills such as: Vital Signs, EKG's, Glucometry, Phlebotomy, specimen collection, and office specific tasks assigned to MA's.
WORK SCHEDULE:
This is a full-time training program. Candidates must have availability to work Monday-Friday- 40 hours a week.
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Customer service experience is strongly preferred; BLS/CPR: current or within 60 days of hire; through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
Sit up to 2 hours per day; 1 hour at a time. Stand for up to 12 hours per day; 8 hours at a time. Walk up to 12 hours per day; 10 minutes at a time. Consistently lift, carry, and push objects up to 30 pounds. Frequently lift, carry, and push objects up to 75 pounds. Transport patients weighing up to 400 lbs via wheelchair, bed and/or stretcher. Frequently stoop and bend and reach above shoulder level. Must be able to perceive attributes of an object through touch. Must be able to hear as it relates to normal conversation, and high/low frequencies. Must be able to see as it relates to general, near, far, color, and peripheral vision.
