Practice Based Quality Lead will have primary responsibility for supervising and managing quality performance for their respective practice. The Practice Based Quality Lead will work closely with Management to establish best practice and ensure data driven performance management and quality improvement are implemented at a practice level. The Practice Based Quality Lead will assume primary administrative duties and responsibilities of a Medical Assistant LPN/RN in addition to Practice Based Quality Lead duties and responsibilities.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Facilitate/lead quality practice improvement activities within assigned practice.
- Establish a collaborative working relationship with practice team members (practice administrator, providers and staff). Assist staff as needed.
- Act as a role model in quality improvement, offering advice and support to others.
- Implement and institutionalize best practice through performance improvement methodologies.
- Assists in the review and analysis of quality data to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Enable practice team members (practice administrator, providers and staff) to understand their contribution to quality, expected quality standards, and complete the necessary documentation to support quality and risk management.
- Maintain and improve quality in all areas of work and practice by addressing and resolving issues related to quality.
- Identify poor quality performance promptly, identify contributing factors and collaboratively work with practice administrator to take effective action to address to them.
- Work closely with practice team members (practice administrator, providers and staff) to ensure workflows are aligned with quality initiatives.
- Attend shared learning collaboratives and display a willingness to learn from others by sharing experiences and information. Attends educational training and in-services as required.
- Assists in capturing patient demographic information.
- Conducts pre-visit planning by reviewing and updating the patient's medical record prior to the appointment with the recent test results and correspondence and determines needed services per practice protocol.
- Confers with the physician, NP or PA regarding any incomplete patient tests/consults or other incomplete orders to the patient visit.
- Prepares patients for the examination and treatment by escorting them from the reception area to the exam room prior to the provider entering the exam room.
- Provides other patient care services as needed/directed:
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
Sitting for up to 7 hours per day, 2 hours at a time. Frequently uses fingers for typing, data entry, etc. Frequent use of hands. Extensively uses mouse as a computer entry device. Uses upper extremities to lift up to 10 pounds. Rarely stoops, bends, or reaches above shoulder level. Hearing as it relates to normal conversation. Seeing as it relates to general vision, peripheral vision and near vision.
EDUCATION:
Graduate of an Accredited Medical Assistant program or two years similar experience.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Current Medical Assistant or higher
