St. Luke's Bethlehem Campus is seeking a Full-Time X-Ray Technologist Day shift to support the O.R. Team! Monday-Friday 8:00 AM-4:30 PM, On Call Rotation.

Functions as part of the O.R. team. Proficient in all aspects of radiographic procedures in the operating room. Communicates with O.R. staff and physicians to ensure the most efficient utilization of resources and staff. Assists in general radiology/emergency room and trauma when not needed in the OR.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Properly identifies patient and exam.
  • Performs diagnostic radiographic studies on patients with the maximum amount of care, while evaluating the technical quality.
  • Maintains sterile technique while imaging patients according to established O.R. policies and procedures. Responsible for following all other established policies and procedures of the O.R.
  • Maintains high level of competence in use of O.R. radiographic equipment.
  • Competent in advanced functions and features for each piece of equipment.
  • Accurately completes order entry documentation in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for care, cleanliness and maintenance of all x-ray equipment used in the O.R.
  • Functions as part of the O.R. team, responds promptly to all calls or pages for cases.
  • Maintains working knowledge of OR instrumentation and procedure, can anticipate surgeons x-ray needs.
  • Ongoing communication with OR staff to minimize schedule conflicts and delays.
  • Communicates with OR staff and physicians to ensure the most efficient utilization of resources and staff.
  • Develops rapport with staff and physicians to instill confidence
  • Annual peer review of images meets department standards.
  • Demonstrates competency in the knowledge of the RIS/HIS/PACS/CR modules appropriate to their job responsibilities.
  • Assumes responsibility for assigned area, making sure all equipment and supplies necessary for that area are readily available for use.
  • Accurately adheres to downtime procedures to assure appropriate information is available resulting in excellent continuity of care for patients.

EDUCATION:

Graduate from an ARRT recognized education program, or ARRT registered, or ARRT registry eligible. Must pass registry within 1 year of hire date.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

Experience as a radiologic technologist preferred, and ongoing training in department procedures. Must rotate through all areas of diagnostic radiology. Current CPR certification required. History of computer usage experience required.
