Directs the design/implementation/evaluation of the diploma program on a daily basis while collaborating with the CNO and nursing faculty. Serves as the liaison to the Network on behalf of the program.
The intent of this job description is to provide a summary of the major duties and responsibilities of this position and shall not be considered as a detailed description of all the work requirements that may be inherent in the position.
Leads the design, implementation, and evaluation of the diploma curriculum in collaboration with the faculty and the Network.
Serves as liaison to the Network on behalf of the School of Nursing in interpreting policy, analyzing outcomes, academic reporting.
Advises the Chief Nursing Officer on academic matters as assigned including strategic planning, standards, program outcomes, partnerships, and accreditation processes.
In collaboration with the diploma faculty, designs and leads a program evaluation and assessment plan focused on performance improvement.
In collaboration with the faculty, oversee the development and compliance with a budget for the program and monitor routine expenditures from the allocated funds per the Network.
In collaboration with Network Development, seeks grants, external funds, and contributions to enhance the School of Nursing endowment monies.
In collaboration with Financial Aid Coordinator, seeks funds and contributions to support student financial aid and scholarships.
Maintains and analyzes data related to attrition/retention, NCLEX pass rate, and standardized testing of nursing students.
Maintains and enhance relationships and communications with the St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association.
Serves as the Title IX Coordinator for the School of Nursing to assure compliance with Federal regulations regarding sex discrimination and equal opportunity.
In collaboration with Network Security, serves as a Campus Security Authority to assure Title IV compliance with the Federal Higher Education Act, Clery Act, and Violence Against Women Act.
Maintains faculty credential files in accordance with State Board of Nursing regulations.
Prepares annual reports for the State Board of Nursing and appropriate accreditation agencies.
Continues ongoing professional development through ongoing education, attendance at conferences and seminars, and seeking appropriate mentorship.
Serve as a support for faculty, staff, and students as appropriate. Oversee and orient novice administrators.

EDUCATION: M.S.N. required. Doctoral preparation in nursing preferred.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Three years teaching in a nursing diploma program required. Two years of clinical staff nurse practice. Maintenance of clinical RN practice competency. Previous course teaching leadership, program coordinator, administration and/or clinical manager experience helpful but not required. Registered nurse license in Pennsylvania.
WORK SCHEDULE: Normally forty hours per week. Daytime schedule with frequent evening/weekend activities scheduled in support of school activities, based on the needs of the department.
