The Advanced Care Center of Butler is a comfortable and home-like 29-bed skilled nursing center that provides high quality short-term rehabilitation services and comprehensive nursing care to help individuals successfully return to home.
The Director of Nursing is responsible for the overall planning, development, organization and progressive direction of the nursing services department in accordance with current federal, state, and local regulations as well within the philosophical framework of Lutheran SeniorLife and CQI principles. Ensures the highest degree of quality nursing care is administered to all residents with respect and continuous recognition of their rights. The Director of Nursing primary areas of overall responsibility include but not limited to: nursing administration, resident medical care, admissions, financial operations and reimbursement, nursing personnel, medical records, staff education and training, infection control.
Responsible for ensuring high quality services for residents through well-developed standards of care, which include strict adherence to the State Nurse Practice Act.
Measures health outcomes against developed standards and adjusts the delivery of care and services appropriately.
Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, which includes maintaining all appropriate records,
files, mandated events, etc.
Maintains nursing guidelines by writing, reviewing and revising policies and procedures.
Ensures that resident care requirements are completed by ensuring adequate nursing staff coverage.
Ensures high level of customer service. Monitors resident satisfaction and manages for quality including making routine rounds, monitoring and reporting; problem solving; teamwork, customer based planning; and establishing and maintaining a vision for the Advanced Care Center.
Maintains a safe and clean living and working environment by ensuring effective coordination of the facility infection control program which includes developing and interpreting infection control policies and protocols; serve as the Centers Infection Preventionist; responsible for implementation and monitoring of the program.
Works in conjunction with the Advance Care Center's Quality Assurance Committee to develop and implement and on-going quality assurance program.
Responsible for development, implementation, and monitoring of the Center's Wound Care and Antibiotic Stewardship program.
Responsible for development, implementation, and monitoring of the Center's Antibiotic Stewardship program.
Provides oversight for the maintenance of resident records and ensuring proper documentation both in open and closed records.
Prevents, identifies, investigates, and reports suspected or actual abuse, neglect, exploitation, and improper use of chemical or physical restraints, in accordance with agency standards.
Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions.
Participates in the weekend manager rotation.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Current RN license required. Bachelor's degree related to Health Care Administration or Business Administration preferred.
A minimum of 3 years of progressive supervisory experience required. At least 3 years Long Term Care experience preferred.
Graduate of accredited school on nursing. Possess a current RN License in Pennsylvania.
Working knowledge of computers, Microsoft Word and Excel required.
