About Austin's Place:
Austin's Place is a day program for young adults with intellectual disabilities. We also provide community participation supports. We offer a one to one staffing ratio. Whether they choose to stay on campus or choose to go out into the community our clients are able to work on communication, socialization, recreational, and pre-vocational goals every day. On our 22 acre campus we offer walking trails, a fully accessible therapeutic center, outdoor music garden, zip line and outdoor swimming pool. We also have a greenhouse, a garden and a picnic shelter. Inside we have two sensory rooms, an art room, and an extensive selection of books, games & puzzles. We also have 2 separate kitchens for those who like to do cooking activities. We have group activities that center around current events, music and animals. While out in the community they are able to visit the Pittsburgh Museums, Science Center, Zoo and Aviary. They may also choose to do some shopping, visit a library, have lunch at a local restaurant or just take a walk at one of the many local parks. Our programming incorporates the interests and strengths of our clients so that they are motivated to learn and progress with their individual goals.
We're looking for an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse to help provide care to our clients. Your responsibilities will include administering routine medications and monitoring clients conditions. Our ideal candidate is highly organized, goal-oriented and has experience dealing with a variety of people.

Responsibilities
  • Provide personal hygiene assistance.
  • Provide emotional support in addition to medical needs.
  • Assist with ambulation and range-of-motion exercises.
  • Administer medications according to a physician's instructions.
  • Gather and record patient information, such as vital signs and progress notes.
  • Implement/supervise activities as outlined by the Program Specialist.
Standard shift:
  • Day shift
Weekly schedule:
  • Monday to Friday
  • No weekends
Ability to commute/relocate:

License/Certification:
  • LPN License (Required)
  • Driver's License (Required)
