Job Title: Advanced Engineering Technician Job Location: Canonsburg PA 15317 Onsite Requirements: Interpret complex drawings / schematics Often working from complex red lined mechanical/electrical drawings Be able to perform troubleshooting down to the component level Job Description: The Senior Advanced Engineering Technician will act as a leader and mentor to new technicians in the support of engineering activities such as designing, testing, checking-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, laser/light transmission devices or specialized test equipment. This may entail performing the following: Interprets complex engineering drawings, diagrams and schematics, and understand the necessary interfaces Performs complex system level troubleshooting to component level Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and troubleshooting functions Lays out, builds, calibrates, adjusts, installs and maintains equipment, components, devices or systems What you'll experience: Technologies that aren't just top-notch, they're often top-secret A team of bold thinkers committed to exploring what's next Opportunities to gain new knowledge - as it's discovered What you bring to the table: An associate's degree in related discipline or equivalent plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience Understands implications of work and provides applicable solutions Distinct knowledge of specialized function and proficiency in application and interpretation of complex specifications, requirements, standards and practices What sets you apart: Team player who thrives in collaborative environments and revels in team success Commitment to ongoing professional development Superior communication and collaboration skills Requirements: Minimum 5 years of experience Interpret complex drawings / schematics Often working from complex red lined mechanical/electrical drawings Be able to perform troubleshooting down to the component level (failure analysis down to component) Not just knowing that the piece failed but why it failed and help with corrective action Really seeking someone who can handle all of this with minimal supervision after a training period All related to Torpedo system development. Much of the equipment is related to complex windows-based test equipment for those torpedo systems. The test systems work on circuit cards that go into the torpedo system. Run a DMM, O-scopes, Power supplies - they should know what these are easily. 3rd party and subcontract staffing agencies are not eligible for partnership on this position. 3rd party subcontractors need not apply. This position requires candidates to be eligible to work in the United States, directly for an employer, without sponsorship now or anytime in the future. This client is a US Federal Government contractor and is legally required to hire US Citizens. US Citizens will only be considered for this role.
