Job description

Duties Assist with the management of personnel programs and services pertaining to military officers, enlisted soldiers and civilian personnel assigned to the U.S. Army War College. Maintain data on all personnel assigned to Table of Distribution and Allowances (TDA) requirements and authorizations for the organization's records. Develop priorities for adjustments in assignments, extensions, grade, and skill/specialty mix in order to maintain adequate pool of assigned personnel. Prepare requisitions and analyzes assignment/fill status of enlisted soldiers. Prepare personnel reports, forecasts and graphic/narrative analyses for management of organization's personnel. Utilize an automated system database to maintain personnel and administrative data for all personnel assigned to an organization. Requirements Conditions of Employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Qualifications Who May Apply: US Citizens Management may select at any of the grade levels announced. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience for GS-06: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) ensuring records are complete and accurate; and 2) utilizing automated systems to prepare documents. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-05). Specialized Experience for GS-07: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) processing personnel actions; 2) maintaining personnel records; and 3) utilizing human resources automated systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-06). TERM Appointment: This position is a TERM Not to Exceed Two (2) years position. It is time-limited and may be extended up to a maximum of eight years. TERM Appointment with option for conversion (must be established prior to announcement opening): To be eligible for conversion, employee must complete at least 2 years of current continuous service under a term appointment in the competitive service AND employee must have a current performance rating under such term appointment of at least fully successful or equivalent.
