Job Position: Part Time Paraprofessionals

Location: Innovative Arts Academy

Pay Rate: $15.08 per hour

Shift: Monday through Friday 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM

Description: SOS Group is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Paraprofessional/Hall Monitor. This unique role combines the responsibilities of supporting educational activities within the classroom as a paraprofessional while also ensuring the safety and security of our school's hallways and common areas as a hall monitor. Employer paid clearances.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist classroom teachers with instructional activities, including but not limited to preparing materials, supervising students, and providing one-on-one support as needed.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavioral interventions for students with diverse learning needs.
  • Supervise students during non-instructional periods, such as recess, lunchtime, and transition times between classes.
  • Monitor hallways, entrances, and other common areas to maintain a safe and orderly environment conducive to learning.
  • Enforce school policies and procedures regarding student behavior, attendance, and safety.
  • Respond promptly to any incidents or emergencies that may arise, following established protocols and ensuring appropriate documentation.
  • Build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/guardians to support the overall well-being of the school community.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Previous experience working with children or adolescents in an educational setting preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Basic knowledge of child development, educational principles, and behavior management strategies.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  • Willingness to undergo a background check and any additional screenings required for employment in a school setting.
