Job description
Duties Serve as the technical and administrative supervisor over an organizational function or group Plan weekly and monthly work schedules and sequence of operations for subordinates. Establish deadlines and priorities on the basis of general work schedules and methods and policies established by higher levels of supervision. Determine how many assignments can be done concurrently, which ones must be delayed, and the number and types of employees needed, considering skills, personnel materials, and equipment available and required. Select workers and assigns tasks to be performed. Explains work requirements, methods, and procedures; instructs subordinates in new procedures. Provide advice when problems arise. Review work in progress or on completion. Develop performance standards, counsels employees on performance, and makes formal and informal performance appraisals. Review job descriptions for currency and accuracy and makes necessary changes Ensure that subordinates are adequately informed of their responsibilities concerning hazardous materials/waste with the work area. Requirements Conditions of Employment This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required. This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position. The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. Detection of the presence of drugs is warranted. This position is subject to the provisions of the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban commonly referred to as the Lautenberg Amendment. This position requires the incumbent to meet the requirements of AMC-R 350-4, Training and Certification Program for personnel working in ammunition operations, within one year of appointment. Must obtain Commercial Drivers License (CDL) within 120 days of appointment to this position. This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time. Work Practices (includes keeping things neat, clean, and in order) Work involves standing, stooping, bending and walking. Incumbent must undergo physical examination and receive favorable results prior to appointment and annually thereafter. Work is performed both inside and outside. Buildings have cement floors and my be unheated. Incumbent is occasionally exposed to weather extremes. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.
