Position: Equipment Estimator
Location: Headquarters - Moon Township, PA

The Equipment Estimator is responsible for assisting the Product Manager in estimating components from the start of bidding process through bid close-out. Duties include: Specification Review, Drawing Review, Coordination and assistance in quantity take-off, Scheduling, and Pricing of direct job costs, Soliciting and Scoping subcontractors and suppliers, and close-out for equipment engineering design and supply projects on new and existing construction of the bid. The Equipment Estimator will be responsible for several scopes of work during the bid process.

Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to)

  • Maintain proposal folder, complete proposal number generation sheet with final bid numbers. Track proposals generated and where possible competitor pricing. Make changes to offer sheets, proposals and estimates based on feedback from Business Unit at time of bid. Meet with Product Management weekly to assist in assigning proposal workload.
  • Work with Purchasing, Sales, and Product management to track and develop rule of thumb metrics for budget estimates. Provide periodic updates to equipment price book for sale and service equipment for budget estimates.
  • Assist Sales in customer interface as an in-house equipment consultant, project scope assessment, cost estimate, supporting proposal development. Work with Product Managers to complete formal quote/bid process, including specification review, scope, cost estimate, price, and alternative offerings in a formal response to proposals. In collaboration with Equipment Manufacturing, Project Management, Design Engineering, and Applications Engineering, ensure appropriate product selection and design. Work with Sales to set pricing for proposals (sale and service) based on market pricing, sourcing requirements, competitive situation, and company expectations.
  • In coordination with the Business Units and Service Product Manager write APPs to expand the service fleet when necessary. Prepare pricing for service vessel buyout using established cash flow model.
  • Assist Project Managers in estimating change order work on existing projects as needed, generating formal proposals for larger estimates.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree (A.A.), or equivalent from two-year college or technical school (or equivalent experience) is required
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.), or equivalent from four-year college or university is preferred
  • 2-3 years Estimating experience is required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook) is preferred
