Job description

Currently have an opening with our client looking for an Engieering Inside Sales / Estimator.
The Inside Sales / Estimator will be responsible for interpreting blueprints, specifications, and customer requirements to estimate the cost, size, materials, and duration of potential projects. This role requires close collaboration with the Outside Sales Team, Production, Drafting Department, and external vendors/service providers to prioritize, coordinate, and schedule customer needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the steel service and fabrication industry, with experience in reading blueprints and a background in metallurgy, drafting, or a related engineering discipline.

Responsibilities

Collect and analyze data to estimate the cost, size, materials, nature, and duration of potential projects by interpreting blueprints, specifications, and customer requirements.

Read and accurately interpret blueprints and technical drawings to ensure precise estimations and project planning.

Work closely with the internal team and external vendors and service providers to prioritize, coordinate, and schedule customer needs and project requirements.

Assist the Outside Sales Team in communicating with customers, understanding their needs, and providing accurate and timely project estimates.

Utilize relevant data and software tools to analyze project requirements and develop cost-effective solutions that meet customer expectations.

Continuously seek ways to improve the estimation process, enhance accuracy, and increase efficiency in collaboration with other departments.

Qualifications:

Associate's Degree in Metallurgy, Drafting, or a related engineering discipline is preferred.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints is required.

Prior involvement in a fabrication and steel service center environment is a plus.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

Proficiency in using estimation software and tools is a plus.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to identify potential challenges in project estimations and develop solutions that align with customer requirements and company capabilities.
