Job description

The Director, Supply Chain is responsible for driving Mission Critical Group's (MCG) and its operating company's overall supply chain and logistics strategy to maximize process efficiency and productivity. This role will play a crucial part in developing and maintaining good relationships with supply partners and distributors, ensuring the manufacturing process runs smoothly and efficiently. This role is remote and will require up to 35% travel.



  • Partner with MCG and operating company leadership to develop and implement supply chain strategies.
  • Foster strong, long-term relationships with our external partners, understanding their capabilities and ensuring their adherence to our quality, cost, and delivery benchmarks.
  • Implement a strategic approach to managing third-party manufacturing partners, ensuring alignment with our business goals, quality standards, and timeline expectations.
  • Champion the development and execution of a data-driven supply chain strategy that aligns with our overarching business objectives and optimizes manufacturing processes.
  • Leverage advanced analytics to inform strategic decision-making, identify bottlenecks, and implement process enhancements, aiming to streamline operations and maximize efficiency.
  • Analyze customer outputs against key performance indicators (KPIs), identify areas of improvement, and work collaboratively to address any issues.
  • Coordinate with the operating companies to help manage logistics, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
  • Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Act as a consultant to the leadership team, providing insights into manufacturing capabilities, constraints, and opportunities.
  • Facilitate consistent updates to senior leadership regarding manufacturing performance, identifying potential risks, and proposing robust mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure appropriate counter measures in are in place to ensure on-time, defect free delivery of supply chain components to each of the Operating Companies.

Required Knowledge/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration or related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience managing external manufacturers and large-scale operations.
  • Vast knowledge of industry-specific supply chain best practices and standards, logistics and inventory management.

Required Skill/Abilities

  • Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with supply chain system software tools
  • Ability to prioritize workload, multi-task, and work under pressure in a demanding environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
  • Possess extensive data analysis skills.
  • Maintain discretion and confidentiality.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • FLSA executive and professional positions paid on a salary basis, where project requirements and tight client deadlines may require workweeks over forty (40) hours (including weekends or holidays)
  • This role will require travel to MCG company sites and to meet with external supply partners
  • This role will work in an office setting, however frequent visits to the production floor are required to oversee operations, ensure compliance and safety standards and engage in staff.
  • Mobility: Ability to move around the manufacturing plant, including walking, standing, and climbing stairs.
  • Manual Dexterity: Occasional use of hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Lifting: Ability to lift and carry items up to twenty-five (25) pounds. All lifting should be done following OSHA standards.
