About the Role:
The scope of the Facilities Manager role is to protect the health and safety of Eriez' employees, ensure compliance with environmental regulations and maintain the physical workplace in support of the organization's business objectives.
The work consists of applying engineering principles in the planning, development, design and maintenance of the facilities, various building structures and the equipment used to facilitate the day-to-day operations of the business, directing, implementing and maintaining environmental compliance practices (hazardous/toxic waste, air, water, emissions etc.) for the facility in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations for industrial and commercial operations.
Reporting Structure:
The Facilities Manager will report directly to the General Manager.
Responsibilities:
Supervise Maintenance and EH&S staff across 2 facilities to achieve desired results and service levels.
Responsible for managing and directing EH&S team to ensure compliance with all State and Federal agencies (EPA, DEP, OSHA, other) including preparation and submission of all federal and state documentation such as TEIR II reporting of hazardous chemicals stored on site, TRI (Toxic Release Inventory) and Volatile Organic Compound emissions.
Manage building security systems and oversee management of emergency preparedness and response program
Manage company CMMS (computerized maintenance management system) including ticketing system, asset management and preventive maintenance schedules
Ensure that the manufacturing facility and equipment are maintained properly to support effective and efficient production
Develop and ensure preventive maintenance programs/projects are in place and followed
Negotiate, schedule, and arrange for outside services/contractors as needed to support maintenance, repair, or construction programs
Assists in projects such as plant layout, waste/scrap reduction, material flow enhancement, equipment justification analyses, etc.
Responsible for integrity and maintenance of buildings, outside grounds, yard maintenance and janitorial services
Assists or may have responsibility for projects involving the construction of new buildings and facilities, and alteration or modification of existing ones
Order repair parts as needed to support maintenance programs
Participate as member of company's Safety Committee and Emergency Response Team to ensure effective support in addressing facility safety issues that involve maintenance, equipment or building systems and structures
Support facilities inspections in conjunction with EH&S team
Negotiate and manage energy supply contracts
Support facilities related inquiries from insurance providers
Other duties as directed by management
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in relevant field
7 to 10 years' experience in a facilities management role with extensive knowledge of environmental practices and regulations
Excellent organizational and project management skills
Position requires an independent thinker with solid decision making and problem-solving skills
Good communication skills and ability to interface with constituents at all levels of the organization and outside of the organization
Working knowledge of environment reporting requirements of State and Federal agencies (EPA, DEP, OSHA, other) including preparation and submission of all federal and state documentation such as TEIR II reporting of hazardous chemicals stored on site, TRI (Toxic Release Inventory) and Volatile Organic Compound emissions
Working knowledge of risk management and safety programs to ensure compliance with federal, state and local safety regulations
Working knowledge of building structures including concrete and masonry, structural mechanics, building and machinery electrical and electronics systems, plumbing, roofing, HVAC, machine mechanical systems, hydraulics and pneumatics
Must possess thorough and relevant equipment and manufacturing knowledge
Ability to create, read and understand blueprint / CAD drawings
