New Story In-District Services (IDS) partners with local school districts to enhance special education services by providing BCBAs, Teachers, RBTs, and Paraprofessionals within schools. POSITION SUMMARY:

The Instructional Coach will support teachers across three counties (Franklin Adams and Cumberland), leveraging both content expertise and instructional skills. They will collaborate closely with classroom teachers, acting as a master teacher, coach, presenter, and facilitator to enhance student learning and teacher practices. The role focuses on individual and group professional development, aiming to deepen understanding and application of research-based instructional methods. Key responsibilities include implementing student-centered practices, promoting curriculum alignment with standards, facilitating non-evaluative coaching, and fostering positive, inclusive learning environments. The coach will also support learning communities, facilitate professional development, use data to inform teaching strategies, and integrate technology for enhanced educational outcomes. Ethical conduct and confidentiality regarding student and teacher information are emphasized throughout.

This is a fulltime, 10 month position - paid for all school holidays and breaks, including summer. Mileage reimbursement is provided.

We are offering a salary of 70,000k base salary for this position.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Establish collaborative coaching approach to implement research-based, student-centered instructional practices
• Assist teacher in collaborative model of co-teaching, observation, dialog, and lesson demonstration to analyze and reflect on practice, promote quality instruction and positively impact student learning.
• Support teachers in aligning their planning and teaching with appropriate core and subject area standards, adopted curriculum materials, and assessments.
• Promote and model strategies for developing positive, engaging, productive, student-centered learning environments inclusive of all students.
• Mentor teachers through non-evaluative, non-judgmental coaching that builds self-directedness and internal capacity for planning, self-assessment and reflection.
• Guide school staff in assessing the effectiveness of instructional practices.
• Increase educator effectiveness by providing professional development.
• Create, promote, and sustain dynamic, digital-age teaching and learning environments that provides rigorous, relevant and engaging education for teachers and students.
• Sustain active and productive, school-based learning communities.
• Collaborate with school leadership team to evaluate student data in support of effective school improvement planning.
• Perform all job responsibilities in a safe manner and adhere to safety practices and standards established by the Company.
• Adhere to the Exposure Control Plan and wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by the task being performed.
• Maintain student confidentiality in accordance with company policy and FERPA regulations.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.

SECONDARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Travel to school locations within designated geographic region.
• Assist with maintaining clean and safe classroom environment.
• Attend and successfully complete all trainings and supervision sessions as directed.
• Complete and submit documentation of time worked accurately and in a timely manner.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Must be an experienced, high accomplished, and well-respected educator.
• Must have the ability to efficiently manage several roles, and the skills needed to work one-on-one with teachers, as well as to oversee a wider staff development effort in the school.
• Must possess strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with child, parent/guardian, multidisciplinary team members, and other personnel involved in child's educational program.
• Must have knowledge of common behavioral disorders exhibited by children and adolescents.
• Must have strong communication skills.
• Must have strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
• Must display a professional appearance and demeanor.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, or related field.
• Current, valid PA Instructional II Special Education certification.
• Minimum of 3-5 years teaching in a special education classroom.

PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS
• Must possess the ability to perform non-violent crisis intervention techniques, including verbal and physical redirection and guidance of potentially physically aggressive students during crisis situations.
• Must possess the ability to react quickly and be sufficiently mobile to redirect students that could be injurious to themselves or others, i.e. stop a child from running out of a building, physically redirect a child with severe behaviors, etc.
• Must be able to physically assist with evacuating students during emergency situations.
