The Instrumentation Technician will have the responsibility of maintaining, testing, modifying, adjusting and repairing electronic systems, controls, and components. Electronic and Instrumentation services may include: uninterruptible power supplies, radio systems, automated door systems, building access and security systems (Lenel), intrusion detection system (IDC), security camera systems including DVRs, fire alarm systems, low voltage alarms, intercom systems, switchboards, mobility scooters, Veeder Root Systems, telephone and voicemail systems, conference call setups and video conference systems Responsibilities/Duties: Instrumentation Technician will inspect, maintain, test, modify, adjust and repair electronic/instrumentation systems, controls, and components at USDA ERRC. Capable of independent decision-making, and be able to function with no supervision. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with strong leadership, project management, team building, and presentation skills required. Customer service experience Experience installing, modifying, testing, repairing, and troubleshooting generators, transformers, converters, regulators, switches, circuit breakers, lightning arresters, mechanical and electronic recording instruments, mechanical and electronic control systems of distribution lines, substations, and power-generating facilities. Experience working from building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and electrical maintenance and repair manuals. Have experience as a technician, or position that showed progression in theoretical and practical knowledge of electrical building systems, and of the characteristics, function, operation, and capabilities of a variety of types of electrical equipment. Skills & Requirements Required Skills: Clear background investigation. Clear driver's license and have reliable transportation to work High level of electronic system maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs Maintenance Documentation completion and filing Customer Service Skills Proficient with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and familiar with CMMS Excellent Organizational skills Required Experience: Sufficient experience and knowledge in a variety of electronic systems, controls and components. Qualifications Our positions may require a background screening and clearance directly from the Government.
