Job description

Gpac is currently working with a food manufacturer in northern Kentucky who is searching for a Plant Manager. Business is booming and the company is going through rapid growth. With multiple facilities and a new one on the way, they are seeking a Plant Manager who values continuous improvement and hands-on leadership.

This person will be responsible for overseeing all plant operations, while maintaining a fun, team-oriented environment where employees are well rewarded for their efforts. This is a 500-person plant that operates 24/7 across 3 shifts.

Candidates needs to have:


  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5 years plant leadership within a food manufacturing environment - USDA/meat operations required
  • Strong understanding of production and packaging operations
  • Experience within a plant start-up, turn-around, or growth environment - want someone who is familiar with new line installations, strong presence on the floor, CI mindset
  • Strong understanding of reporting, yield loss, uptime, labor utilization, and safety
  • Strong understanding of USDA and FDA standards
  • Familiarity with HACCP, SQF, SSOP, and SOP
  • Hands-on, self-starter with the ability to motivate and lead staff while reaching production goals and adhering to safety standards

They will be responsible for:


  • Managing all plant operations including production, warehouse, maintenance, and quality
  • Work closely with full operation management team which includes maintenance, QA, warehouse, sanitation, finance, and human resources
  • Lead the recruiting, interview, hiring and training of new plant employees
  • Ensure company standards are achieved with an emphasis on continuous improvement, providing support, structure, and training for employees
  • Analyze production performance records and data
  • Ensure operating equipment are running smoothly and effectively
  • Maintain compliance with established policies and procedures
  • Maintain workflow by monitoring and developing processing instructions, observing control points and equipment, monitoring staff
  • Execute product manufacturing goals by establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems and reporting results of the processing flow

Client is offering relocation assistance and targeting 140k-180k base DOE
