Job description

UPMC North Central Pa. is seeking a Full-time advanced practice provider to join our hospitalist team in Coudersport Pennsylvania. UPMC Cole is a modern, progressive system centered around a 25-bed critical access hospital located on a large, well-maintained campus with a service area covering 55,000 people living in six counties in North Central Pennsylvania and Western New York. UPMC Cole owns and operates eleven primary care and eighteen specialty medical practices located in Coudersport and the counties that surround the hospital. The hospital is equipped with operating rooms, ten obstetrics suites, a six-bed ICU, ten-bed emergency department, and a 44-bed long-term care facility. Due to its remote location, the hospital has transfer arrangements with multiple facilities within a 20-minute helicopter flight. This high-quality and fiscally-sound facility includes a clinically-sound staff centered on excellent patient care. Most physicians on staff are employed by UPMC Cole. UPMC Cole is a subsidiary of the UPMC system which now has provider systems throughout western and central Pennsylvania from Maryland to New York. UPMC Cole has four (4) operating room suites, an endoscopy lab, and a minor procedure room. The 5,500 surgical procedures performed annually are derived from orthopedics, general surgery, ENT, pain management, OB/GYN, podiatry, urology, and gastroenterology. UPMC in North Central Pa. consists of five hospitals, including UPMC Cole, UPMC Lock Haven, UPMC Muncy, UPMC Wellsboro, and UPMC Williamsport, and various medical office locations. Our network of more than 600 experienced physicians, surgeons, mid-level providers, and caregivers strive to provide clinically excellent health care through a wide range of services. Caring for a 12-county region, we employ practitioners in a broad range of specialties recognized at the national and state levels for quality of care. In fiscal year 2022, we provided more $73 million in community benefit to those in the regions we serve.

CANDIDATE PARAMETERS:

• Physician Assistant

• American Citizen or FMG

• Great communication skills and empathy are required

• Board-Certified

• New graduates considered.

EMPLOYMENT ARRANGEMENTS:

• Hospital employment

• Initial agreement 36 month term, will consider longer terms

PRACTICE DESCRIPTION:

• Established practice with two orthopedic surgeons and five advanced practice providers.

• UPMC Cole Orthopedic Services is comprised of four total practices, located in Bradford, Coudersport, Emporium and Shinglehouse Pennsylvania. This vacancies primary location is Coudersport Pennsylvania.

WORK SCHEDULE:

• Start: As soon as possible

• Outpatient and inpatient along with OR rotations

• Call 1:5

• EMR system - Outpatient: Epic; Inpatient: Meditech, replacement system (Epic) is being planned for 2025
