Quality Carriers, Inc. (QC), headquartered in Tampa, FL, is North America's largest bulk liquid chemical carrier. Through a network of more than 100 terminals and facilities, we transport a broad range of chemical products and provide our customers with value-added transportation services.

Job Summary:

This position coordinates all functions of on the job training for drivers. This includes managing the trainers at the driver training center, overseeing training equipment, and ensuring the efficient operations of the school.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Managing assigned OJT Center daily operations, scheduling, and personnel

Travel:

Some travel required (Up to 15% per year)

Weekend work will be required

Duties/Responsibilities:

Managing the Driver Trainers

Hands-on OJT that includes all physical functions of driver training

Classroom OJT that includes all driver operation field training

Equipment training with drivers

Complete OJT paperwork and compliance

Daily terminal communication and feedback

Managing the center's daily operations and inventory

Handling all maintenance issues

Other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities/Experience:

Some chemical bulk transportation industry experience

2+ years of training experience

1+ year of direct supervision experience

Excellent communication and people skills

Knowledge of DOT requirements

Experience with safety procedures

Working knowledge of computer and software such as Word, Excel and Google products

Able to use technology such as computers, laptops and handheld devices to access company and vendor provided systems

Must have CDL Class A

Education:

High School Diploma or GED, college degree a plus

Working knowledge of hazmat

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The employee will regularly and repetitively be required to talk, hear, sit, type, reach and grasp in a typical office environment

This position will require while on the catwalk: standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping or crouching

Occasionally lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds; move hoses and other equipment repetitively

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

Work Environment:

Classroom and outside; training may be conducted in extreme temperatures, rain, or other weather conditions

ExperienceRequired2 - 3 years: Experience with safety procedures related to tanker trucking

2 - 3 years: Knowledge of DOT requirements

2 - 3 years: Equipment (hoses, PPE, etc.) used by drivers

2 - 3 years: Knowledge of the transportation and logistics industry

2 - 3 years: Experience in chemical bulk transportation
