We seek a dedicated and hardworking Yard Worker to join our Tague Lumber of Kennett Square team. The Yard Worker is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the yard by assisting customers, handling materials, and maintaining cleanliness. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.

  • Meet and greet customers and provide excellent customer service in selecting and loading materials
  • Accurately load, unload, and move materials in the yard and warehouse
  • Load product into customer vehicles
  • Load products onto company vehicles for delivery
  • Assist with unloading deliveries
  • Operate forklift in a safe and efficient manner
  • Jockey trucks and moffetts around the lumber yard
  • Maintain a clean and safe yard and warehouse
  • Move waste from working areas of the yard to dumpsters
  • Comply with all safety policies, procedures, training, rules and guidelines
  • Maintain a courteous, respectful manner working around customers, vendors other employees and supervisors
  • Other duties as assigned

Working Conditions:

  • The position requires working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • This is a safety-sensitive position

Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Valid driver's license
  • Pass background test and drug test
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in a warehouse, construction, or yard work environment is a plus
  • Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment (training may be provided)
  • Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic math skills for measuring and cutting materials
