Job Summary The Lead Financial Planner is responsible for advancing the overall financial performance of Geisinger Health and its subsidiaries. This role will inform decision making and ensure goal achievement by preparing quarterly financial operating forecasts and other financial modeling or analysis in support of business and financial needs. In this capacity, this role will coordinate with Finance Partners to meet the needs of operational leadership.
Job Duties

  • Implements, develops, and maintains use of enterprise quarterly forecasting software, templates, and tools to enable agile and accurate forecasts and operating impacts analyses.
  • Collaborates with Financial Analytics, Decision Support, and GHP Financial Planning teams to ensure integration and synchronization of hospital, professional, and health plan quarterly forecasting software structure.
  • Assists with evaluation of forecasting methodologies and makes recommendations to financial planning leadership.
  • Collaborates with Finance Partners to translate financial operating margin goals into forecast group metric targets that are understandable to administrative owners and ensure the overall margin goals.
  • Collaborates and coordinates with Finance Partners to ensure that forecasts and models reflect appropriate operational activity.
  • Assesses and evaluates forecast submissions providing actionable analysis and guidance.
  • Prepares scenarios and sensitivities to evaluate forecast assumptions, assess volatility, and inform the decision-making process.
  • Develops and maintains dashboards, reports, and self-service portals.
  • Collaborates with Strategic Financial Planning to support quarterly cash forecasting and long-range financial operating projections.
  • Prepares and presents quarterly forecast material to Finance Partners.
  • Promotes advanced use of forecasting software and tools.
  • Assists with development and provision of end user training.
  • Participates in special projects, reporting requirements, and committees as assigned to support finance and/or operational initiatives.
  • Develops and maintains strong business partner relationships across the Geisinger enterprise.
  • Actively seeks input from members of the management and finance teams when appropriate.

Education Bachelor's Degree- (Required)
