Overview:
CAES - Mission Systems is actively seeking a highly motivated RF/Microwave Engineering Technician to join our engineering development team. In this dynamic environment you will participate in fabricating and testing prototype RF/microwave components and assemblies used in a wide variety of Aerospace and Defense applications, providing protection to our warfighters. The successful candidate will have a solid experience and background in RF/Microwave product prototyping and testing, and will also have the creative thinking skills to support the engineering team with development and testing. RF/Microwave assemblies. The work location is in out sprawling suburban Philadelphia location of Lansdale, PA.
Responsibilities:
General Duties/Responsibilities
Test, debug, troubleshoot, and repair assemblies in engineering or production environments.
Perform benchtop RF measurements such as VSWR, insertion loss, gain compression, harmonics and power.
Experience using RF test equipment such as PNAs, power meters, signal analyzers, generators, power supplies and oscilloscopes to test and troubleshoot various RF assemblies like amplifiers, mixers, filters, oscillators, phase shifters.
Review and analyze test data and provide summaries to responsible engineers.
Assist engineering with the testing, tuning and troubleshooting of Engineering prototypes.
Generate sketches and schematics of prototypes. Good writing and interpersonal skills
Multitask and adjust to changing priorities
Excellent communication skills both verbally and in written format
An eagerness to learn a multitude of different RF products in a relatively short time frame
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or GED.
Four (4) years of experience in RF Test and/or prototyping related activities.
Four (4) years of experience calibrating and operating network analyzers
Two (2) years of experience with soldering microwave components
Two (2) years of experience working with Microsoft Excel and Word
Two (2) years of experience reading technical drawings and schematics
This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a "US Person" under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license)
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
Preferred Experience
Six (6) years of experience in RF/Microwave test
Associates Degree or other two-year technical degree or equivalent
J-STD-001 certified for solder and/or IPC-A-610 certified for inspection
Experience with CAD programs
Experience testing high power amplifiers with PNAs
Experience with environmental testing such as thermal cycle, vibration, and shock
Experience with Microsoft Excel VBA, PowerPoint, & Visio
Experience developing macros/setups for the Keysight PNA and PAN-X Analyzers
Experience writing macros for Microsoft Excel for Data analysis.
Experience working in the Millimeter Wave range
Understanding of passive circuit fundamentals and microwave terminology
Salary Range: Test Engineering Technician IV : $32.92 - $47.76 Hourly, and Test Engineering Technician V: $ 36.79 - $ 55.18 Hourly. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
