Assistant Controller

Are you someone who can provide high-level support to a Controller as they manage the companys accounting and financial activities?

As an Assistant Controller on our team, you will understand financial terms, work with intercompany accounting such as journal entries and other GL work, pay and produce invoicing, follow appropriate recording procedures, and successfully produce financial summary statements and reconciliations. Experience working for a family business is a must, in addition to AP/AR and asset management skills are required.

In this role your responsibilities include:

  • Maintains confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential
  • Prepares, analyzes, and consolidates monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Ensures all accounting practices are following legal guidelines and established accounting principles
  • Assists in maintaining internal controls and policies
  • Assists with billing and tax documentation preparation
  • Vendor management
  • Collaborates with the IT department to maintain financial records and system processes
  • Identifying solutions to discrepancies in financial records

Skills and Qualifications of the Assistant Controller:

Resumes will be accepted from those who have a bachelors degree and relevant coursework/experience in accounting, business, or equivalent business experience and 7+ years of progressively responsible experience.

The right candidate must be proficient in the use of QuickBooks or similar software and Microsoft Office software. Must have a high level of integrity and trustworthiness, be proficient in project management, attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, must have the ability to deal with ambiguity, be an excellent team player, and are able to handle confidential information appropriately, all with a positive outlook and demeaner.
