Job description

The Assistant Late Night Supervisor assists the Late Night Supervisor with leadership responsibilities during the overnight shift. The position is responsible for the operations and management of a designated facility, ensuring the provision of the highest quality of service to the clients by creating an atmosphere that is safe, respectful and positive for all.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Associate's Degree or 60 credits with 3 years of experience, OR a Bachelor's Degree with 1 year of experience is required.
  2. Experience working with children / adolescents required.
  3. Supervisory experience preferred.
  4. Possess, exhibit, and maintain competency in dealing with youth.
  5. Must possess basic personal computer knowledge and skills.
  6. Must be at least 21 years of age.
  7. Valid driver's license, SCM certification, CPR/First Aid certification required.
  8. Must have the ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, flexible hours, and overtime as required.

JOB DUTIES:
  1. Assist in the evaluation of staff on performance and correctly identify strengths and improvement areas.
  2. Provide leadership, support and supervision to your team.
  3. Participate in weekly center leadership and departmental meetings as requested by Late Night Supervisor and or Late Night Manager.
  4. Facilitate or co-facilitate weekly meetings with direct reports.
  5. Communicate all concerns, issues and recognitions to the Late Night Leadership and direct reports in an efficient and timely manner.
  6. Assist with the ordering and maintenance of adequate supplies.
  7. Assist in the search and apprehension with elopement situations.
  8. Ensure there are appropriate staffing patterns during the third shift at all times. Staffing patterns must meet or exceed mandated ratios.
  9. Assist Late Night Supervisor with interviewing and hiring late night staff for residential operations.
  10. Assist in the responsibility for the supervision and training of all late night staff. This includes providing training during the third shift to supplement the already established departmental and organizational trainings.
  11. De-escalate a client in crisis and fully perform restraints as necessary when ordered by a licensed professional using the current approved KidsPeace methodology on youth who may weigh in excess of 250 pounds and who are verbally or physically threatening or otherwise presenting a threat to themselves or others.
