Responsibilities:

Patient Care: Provide comprehensive medical evaluations and treatment to children who have experienced abuse or neglect.

Diagnosis and Assessment: Conduct thorough medical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and assess the physical and psychological impact of abuse.

Collaboration: Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including social workers, law enforcement, and child protective services, to ensure the safety and well-being of children.

Court Testimony: Provide expert testimony in court cases related to child abuse and neglect.

Education and Advocacy: Educate healthcare professionals, families, and the community on the prevention and identification of child abuse.

Research: Contribute to research initiatives to advance the field of child abuse pediatrics and improve patient outcomes.

Qualifications:

Required:

BC/BE (Board Certified/Board Eligible) in Child Abuse Pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics.

BC (Board Certified) in Pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics.

Graduate of an ACGME-accredited Pediatric residency.

Graduate of an ACGME-accredited Child Abuse Pediatric Fellowship.

Unrestricted PA medical license at the time of employment.

Ability to obtain/maintain DEA certification for the Commonwealth of PA.
