Job Summary:
Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry to lead and manage our partner hospital's Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship Training Program in Philadelphia, PA. The Director will oversee all aspects of the fellowship program, including recruitment, faculty development, curriculum design, and clinical supervision, ensuring compliance with institutional and accreditation standards. This role involves significant leadership responsibilities as well as direct clinical care, providing comprehensive psychiatric services to children, adolescents, and some adults.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship Training Program, ensuring it aligns with academic and clinical standards.
Develop and maintain systems for recruitment, evaluation, and selection of fellows.
Establish and monitor goals and objectives for the training program.
Ensure compliance with ACGME/Residency Review Committee standards and maintain the program's accreditation.
Curriculum and Evaluation:
Develop and implement a robust curriculum evaluation system to assess educational objectives and fellow progress.
Evaluate trainee progress and competencies, providing ongoing feedback and maintaining accurate records of evaluations.
Establish clear policies and procedures for the training program, communicating them to fellows and faculty annually.
Faculty Development:
Evaluate and support faculty performance in their educational and supervisory roles.
Develop and provide faculty development programs, helping faculty enhance their skills as teachers, supervisors, and mentors.
Collaboration and Compliance:
Chair the Education Policy Committee and the Fellowship Admissions Sub-Committee to ensure effective program governance.
Ensure compliance with institutional, ACGME, and Residency Review Committee standards, and collaborate with other residency training programs to facilitate comprehensive psychiatric education.
Clinical Supervision and Teaching:
Provide direct clinical supervision to fellows, residents, and medical students in both clinical and didactic settings.
Participate in clinical conferences and teaching activities, including lectures for medical students and healthcare professionals.
Serve as a role model and educator for residents and fellows in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Clinical Responsibilities:
Provide consultation and liaison psychiatric services to children and adolescents in the Emergency Department and on medical floors at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children.
Offer direct patient care at the 1427 Vine Street Clinic and at the St. Chris outpatient clinic (once established).
Serve a patient population consisting primarily of children and adolescents, with some adult patients as required.
Qualifications:
MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
Board Certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
Fellowship Training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is highly desirable.
Eligible for or holding a medical license in the state of Pennsylvania.
Demonstrated leadership skills in program administration, faculty development, and clinical supervision.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
