Job description
The Community and Trauma Counseling Program in the Department of Counseling and Behavioral Health seeks new faculty members at the Full Time Assistant Professor Level, t o support the CACREP-accredited counseling program at at Thomas Jefferson University.
The appointed candidate will be responsible for teaching six to eight courses annually in the graduate and/or undergraduate program(s). In addition to teaching, the position requires additional duties, including but not limited to course and program development, grant writing, student recruitment, student advising, clinical site coordination, and completing outcome measurements for graduate students as per the standards set forth by the Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).

Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP accredited program. A professional license is required, LPC is preferred. Candidate expertise in addictions and recovery is a plus, as is expertise in play therapy or art therapy in the treatment of trauma impacted clients. Candidate must have a minimum of 3-5 years clinical experience in trauma-informed and related mental health service delivery.
Candidate must have sound teaching experience. Proficiency with online teaching, graduate education, and interprofessional training preferred. Candidates must have experience with course and curriculum development and grant writing. Candidate must have excellent organizational skills, be a strong communicator, a team player, and have proficiency with computers and education-related technology. Candidates who represent underserved communities are encouraged to apply.
The candidate must maintain clinical practice outside of the University (practice track) OR meet University standards related to research/scholarship/creative work for tenure-track professors (tenure track). For this advertised position, the contract type may be practice track or tenure track and will be awarded based on the credentials and experience of the finalist.
