Inventory Supervisor

Hours might be 11pm to 7am

This level I supervisor (S1) oversees and coordinates operating conditions and procedural compliance for assigned storeroom including safety, security, receipt, inspection, storage, and issue of materials for all client departments. In addition, the incumbent oversees, on a rotating schedule, one of several of the following areas including the central storeroom, overflow storage facilities, outlying station storerooms, office services, tool repair shop and stationery storerooms that function on a 24/7 basis.

Responsibilities:
Inventory Control
Develop, implement, and maintain tracking systems to ensure the control and maintenance of inventory stored and minimize on-hand inventory levels in the warehouse and storerooms.

Audit inventory information, stock status and inventory balances for accuracy, availability and reordering decisions including trackingspecial order items. Review issue tickets for completeness, legibility, and accuracy; order and requisition items to maintain in inventory. Maintain accurate records and reports for inventory control.

Reconcile purchase order conflicts, incorrect material deliveries & over shipments; retain documentation of all information to facilitate future orders and minimize improper shipments.

Supervise and perform the dispatching function of the delivery force for delivery of materials to worksites, storerooms and outlying stations and ensures excess materials are returned to stock.

Track location of special tools loaned to client department and sent to Transportation department for repairs.
Supervise the Tool Repair and Pipe Shop function that provides for the repair of various tools for Operations.

Personnel Management
Supervise work distribution and completion. Supervise, monitor, and train personnel to ensure they are working using safe acceptable warehouse practices. Assess employee needs ensuring subordinates are properly trained and adhere to company policies, practices and procedures including collective bargaining agreement when applicable. Assist the Manager in first step union grievance procedures.

Review workload and manpower daily. Schedule work assignments for personnel and adjusting personnel level to ensure adequate coverage. Duties include but not limited to:
Preparing overtime schedule. Approving timecards, route sheets, vacation schedules, and vacation schedules.
Investigating sick calls by performing a sick check at the employee's home.
Evaluate and meet with subordinates to discuss work performance providing appropriate commendations and disciplinary actions to ensure employees are well equipped to meet and/or exceed job expectations.

Finance & Accounting
Participate in the annual budget preparation process as needed or requested.

Other Related Functions
Monitor removal of scrap and maintains pertinent information needed to monitor scrap value

Qualifications:
Associate degree in business management, Supply Chain, Industrial Management other related field of study.

3 - 5 years relevant work experience in a related area such as warehousing, receiving, or inventory control; preferably in a utilityenvironment.

Must be familiar with standard operational methods of storing, shipping, and receiving.

Must have supervisory skills with the ability to create a professional and constructive environment that fosters a team-oriented andcustomer service approach to day-to-day operations.

Must have project planning and management skills with the ability to make operational decisions, monitor progress and report results.

Must have verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of employees, irate vendors, and other public agencies/officials in delicate, pressure situations.

Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office and Oracle Financials Purchasing and Inventory Module. Knowledge of bar code technology and electronic data exchange would be a plus.

Must have a valid Pennsylvania Driver's license and clean driving record.

An Equivalent combination of education and experience may be acceptable in lieu of degree.
