Title: Patient Care Technician (PCT)
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Position Type: Onsite
Purpose and Scope: As a Dialysis Patient Care Technician (PCT), you'll play a vital role in our healthcare team, providing safe and effective dialysis therapy to patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse. Your responsibilities will include setting up and operating hemodialysis machines, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and contributing to our organization's Quality Enhancement Program (QEP).


Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care:

    • Assist with patient education regarding dialysis procedures and disease management.
    • Perform pre- and post-treatment vital signs and weight checks.
    • Initiate and monitor dialysis treatments, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
    • Document patient information accurately and timely.
    • Collaborate with the healthcare team to address patient needs.
  • Technical Skills:

    • Operate hemodialysis machines proficiently.
    • Perform vascular access cannulation and heparin administration.
    • Maintain a clean and sanitized work environment.
  • Teamwork:

    • Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
    • Participate in training and development programs.
    • Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.


Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Current dialysis patient care technician certification.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in dialysis patient care.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
