Job description
GENERAL OVERVIEW OF KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
This administrative position is responsible for the overall administrative, programmatic, clinical and fiscal operations of the program through appropriate delegation of duties. The Director shall serve as the liaison with other programs and the community for referrals, intakes, transfers, discharges and public relations. The Director will manage the fiscal operations of the program including budget preparation, planning and management. The Director is responsible for supervision of all administrative staff and the coordination of their functions within the program. The Director shall plan, develop and implement new projects and program expansions. The Director shall coordinate the plans for various regulatory and government inspections.
ESSENTIAL & CORE FUNCTIONS:
Ensures existence and promulgation of unit mission statement in keeping with the agency mission statement.
Evaluates effectiveness of service delivery and develops proposals.
Makes recommendations for staff development program.
Provides written performance evaluations of unit staff in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
Maintains and updates unit policy and procedure manual.
Develops and implements policies and procedures for the operation of the department.
Holds meetings on a regular basis to effectively manage and direct activities.
Provides Supervision to all direct reports weekly and maintains written record.
Encourages the integration of services with the community through effective communication and public relations.
Oversees clinical documentation of the program so that state and county licensing requirements are met.
Manages and maintains the budget of the department.
Maintains and where necessary, establishes referral sources and screens incoming referrals as well as reviewing all discharges.
Provides leadership and direction of all professional and technical staff in regards to the overall operations and implementation of the program.
Requirements
PREREQUISITES & QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION:
Masters Degree in Human Services, Social Science, Administration or other related fields from an accredited college or university required.
Five (5) to Ten (10) years of mental health and substance use treatment or related experience including three (3) years of program administration or supervisory experience required.
COMPETENCIES & PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:
Strong clinical skills.
Ability to design, develop and modify programming.
Ability to multi-task and remain organized.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated supervisory abilities.
Knowledge and experience with the chronically mentally ill population.
ORGANIZATIONAL ACCOUNTABILITY & RELATIONSHIPS:
1. The individual is to be supervised by the Chief of Staff.

Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
