Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Documentation Specialist. This role will play a key role in supporting the Senior Analysts and Quality Assurance leadership in maintaining product specifications, packaging approvals, supplier documentation, and certifications. This role ensures that all regulatory and quality system requirements are met in accordance with company and customer guidelines.

Description

  • Maintain Product Specifications: Create and update Finished Goods Specifications for East Coast customers' products, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Packaging Approvals: Review, digitize, upload, and approve packaging artwork for primary and secondary packaging. Ensure labels meet regulatory guidelines regarding claims and content.
  • Quality Metrics & Compliance: Establish and manage quality metrics and product specifications within the Redzone Quality Compliance software module.
  • Supplier Documentation: Support the supplier approval process by uploading and approving supplier documentation, including conducting risk assessments.
  • Certification Management: Manage and maintain documentation for certifications (e.g., Organic, Gluten-Free, Kosher) and ensure compliance for Identity Preserved products.
  • Compliance Software Updates: Assist with managing and updating various compliance software modules as required.
  • Ingredient Management: Oversee receiving procedures, ingredient sampling, retention, and Certificate of Analysis (COA) approvals.
  • Internal Audits: Participate in internal audits as part of the broader quality auditing team.
  • Customer Compliance: Review customer food safety and quality requirements, ensuring full compliance with the company's internal programs.
  • Additional QA Support: Assist with other Quality Assurance tasks or administrative duties as needed.

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Quality Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Open to entry-level candidates that want to get into the food industry
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, including HACCP, GMP, and FDA standards.
  • Proven leadership and supervisory experience in a quality control or assurance environment.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS) and food safety systems.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with other departments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with QA software.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on continuous improvement and process optimization.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
