Job description

Nesco Resource is working with a client looking for an Electrical Estimator:

Electrical Estimator

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Included but are not limited to:
Prepare accurate take-offs according to predetermined schedules and milestones.
Participate in discussions relative to various pricing aspects for each project and provide meaning input.
Confirm the estimate's scope definition with the Senior Estimator.
Obtain pricing from various vendor and other material suppliers and analyze for cost and scope appropriateness.
Prepare necessary spreadsheets and update accordingly.
Review and understand the appropriate plans and specifications, and update according to changes made by addendum s .
As necessary, participate in site visits to further define the scope of work and appropriate costing.
Identify value engineering and other cost saving opportunities and discuss same with senior estimating staff members.
Thoroughly understand and use effectively the Company's computerized estimating system. Stay current with all updates.
On successful estimates, assist with the preparation of turnover documents and participate in scheduled turnover meetings.
Suggest cuts/adds to the senior estimating staff.
Communicate, as needed, with clients/engineers/architects to obtain all necessary information for estimate input and consideration.
For successful estimates, provide all necessary information to assist with the budget preparation process.
Understand the importance of maintaining historical bid data and make sure all estimate information is recorded accordingly.
Understand the Company's safety policies and procedures and their relationship to possible safety issues identified in projects being bid.
As needed, support and participate in Company business development initiatives. Other responsibilities, as assigned.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of a two year electrical engineering degree or equivalent is preferred.
A minimum of 2 years' electrical estimating experience in related industry fields.
Knowledge of estimating techniques and costs, and the ability to interpret computerized cost data.
Excellent computer skills and is detailed oriented, analytical, organized, able to meet established deadlines, and can work well in pressure-type situations is also required.
Project field experience is also preferred
