Threat and Incident Analyst
This is a remote position. The Security Analyst will serve as a Threat and Incident Management specialist within the Pitt Information Technology (Pitt IT) Security Team. The Analyst will be tasked with evaluating and mitigating security incidents across our environment. This role demands expertise in Endpoint Protection, Incident Response, Vulnerability Management, Network Security, Cloud Technologies, and Security Operations. Experience with SIEM, SOAR, and familiarity with regulatory compliance standards such as NIST 800-171, FERPA, HIPAA, and PCI are highly desirable.
The Analyst will play a crucial role in identifying, analyzing, and responding to cybersecurity threats and incidents, while also supporting the continuous improvement of our security posture. Strong troubleshooting skills, effective communication, and organizational abilities are essential, along with a commitment to providing excellent customer service.
As a member of the security team, the Analyst will also be required to respond to emergency security incidents on a 24/7/365 basis.

Job Summary
Performs highly advanced procedures to ensure the security of all Information Technology (IT) assets, resources, and data to protect all systems, networks, and applications. Documents, assists with managing the IT security policy and standards, and assists with security operation efforts.
Essential Functions
Analyze and mitigate IT security threats and incidents. Take appropriate action.
Working with PC related hardware equipment, software applications and telephony systems. Written and verbal communication. Interpersonal relations. Analyzing and organizing information. Task planning and serving on project teams. Proficient knowledge of IT.
Physical Effort
Generally sedentary desk work with computer-keyboard-video phone other than traveling to other buildings on campus for meetings/events on occasion. Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.
On occasion, may need to lift equipment up to 35 lbs. Travel to conferences may occur on occasion.
